Jeff Olson announces retirement after 27 years as head coach

Ishpeming, MI – After 27 season as the head coach of the Ishpeming football team, Jeff Olson will not return to the sidelines for the Hematites in 2019. 

Ishpeming’s Atheltic Director, Terry Roberts, made the official announcement today. 

“After 27 years of successfully coaching Varsity Football at Ishpeming High School, Jeff Olson has announced his retirement from coaching football.  He will continue to teach at Ishpeming High School.”

Olson, was perhaps the most recognized head coach in all of the Upper Peninsula during his tenure as the head coach of the Hematites. 

His storied career included state titles in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Ishpeming was a state runner-up in 2010 and 2014.
