Marquette, MI – If you’re looking for some entertainment Saturday evening you might consider checking out the Marquette Mutineers game happening at Lakeview Arena.

The team has played well this season and has positioned themselves at a chance to win their first ever Great Lakes Hockey League championship.

The Mutineers will play their biggest game of the season Saturday night as they take on the West Bend Bombers. It will be the second meeting between the teams.

Joey Enright, who coaches the Mutineers and also plays forward on the team said, “It was a tight game down there. It went back and forth. Very low scoring game for this league at 4-3, we lost in overtime. But it could have went either way.”

Getting a win will be no easy task. West bend has won the GLHL championship the past three years and are currently undefeated.

“They’re physical. There’s a lot of big guys. They’re veterans. They’re whole team, it feels like has been in the league for forever. They move the puck, they play physical and they bury,” said Enright about the Bombers.

“It’s going to be fast-paced hockey. You know, good hockey. It’s going to be a tight battle. It’s just huge. This game is the biggest game of probably this programs history right here,” added Cody Bourdeau, a Mutineer Defenseman.

The Mutineers currently sit in 3rd in the GLHL standings. As they move forward every game and every point counts.

“We have 13 games left. Those other teams have more games then us, so it’s kind of like the games back type thing. We win this one, we’re in good position to win the whole thing,” said Enright.

“Most importantly we need points out of this. West bend has been defending this title for the past three years. This leagues been around since 1937. We want to be the first group of guys to bring that trophy to Marquette and try to get this hockey community back together,” added Bourdeau.

Tickets for the game are 5$ for general admission. Children 12 & under get in free. They puck drops tomorrow at 6pm eastern.
