Snowmobile hillclimb in Caspian

The Mid America Snow and Terrain Expert Racers, the Masters Racing Circuit, will sanction the Snowmobile Hillclimb in Caspian on Saturday. The Hillclimb is the Mid America Championship Hillclimb and is the first qualifying snowmobile hillclimb for this years World Championship Hillclimb in Jackson, Wyoming.  

The Mid America Championship Hillclimb takes place at the former Caspian Ski Jump, located just east of the City of Caspian Offices and Ski Hill.

Registration begins at 7:00 pm CT, with the drivers meeting starting at 8:00 pm CT. It is at 9:00 pm CT that the drivers draw for the order they will compete in each class. The order of competition starts with the Pro Open Mod. That competition will start this Saturday Morning at 10:00 am CT. Woodland Equipment of Iron River is donating the manpower and equipment to clear off the parking area for the fans and the pit area for the drivers. Fans are able to watch the competition right from their vehicles. They will be able to hear the PA system with the support of First National Bank of Iron River. Fans will be able to see the Digital Timer with the help of Lindwall Motors and Wild Rivers Realty. Bigari Ace Hardware and Forslund Building supply have provided security fencing for the fans. No fans are allowed on the side of the hill.

“This event not only showcases Caspian, but the entire Iron River area. It also brings drivers, families, and crews to the area. The Masters Staff and drivers are staying at the AmericInn of Iron River and the Iron Inn of Iron River, they are also spending money in the area. Plus the event gets great coverage from the media, such as the Reporter, WJMN, The Bull WIKB, and more. The MACH is a good event for the entire area, especially Iron County,” said Masters Racing Circuit president Skip Schulz.

Vehicle parking is $10.00, fan admission is $5.00. Gates will open for the fans at 9:00 am, with the Pits opening at 8:00 am Central Time. The awards ceremony and the chance to meet and talk to the drivers will be Saturday Night at Snipe Lake Pub and Grub. This will be 90 minutes after the King of the Hill Trophy Presentation at the Ojibwa Casino Winners Circle.
