Round 2 of this week’s winter weather will affect the area from overnight tonight through Saturday with blizzard conditions near Lake Superior.   The National Weather Service says Upper Michigan can expect:

•Significant impacts will not begin until overnight tonight
•This storm will be stronger than the Wednesday night/Thursday storm from earlier this week
•Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph can be expected near Lake Superior from late tonight through the day Saturday. Further inland, wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph can be expected.
•The worst of the conditions will be from Marquette eastward through Munising and along the shore in Keweenaw County. Any travel near the lakeshore in these areas will be very dangerous and is strongly discouraged.
•Snow totals will not be the big story, but the gusty winds and reduced visibility in blowing snow will be.
•Temperatures will not get above zero on Saturday and wind chills will be dangerously low in the -25 to -40 range.
•Conditions will begin to improve Saturday evening but it will still be very cold.
